New House

We all moved into a new house just over a month ago. We love the new house. Not only is there TONS more space for all of us, but we also have these fun floors that are slippery and don't have the floor fur. We thing the humans call it wood but we just chase each other and slide! Oh and we have this area where we can do out the door when the humans let us and we are in the outer world, but still safe behind a see-thru wall thing.. Its hot in this see-thru room that the humans call a screen porch, but we like going out there. Not Link so much.. he's still scardy. There is some good video of Kai playing with an invader on the screen porch.. maybe the boy human will post it for you to sees.

Here's a little story that my humans wrote about me for the website of my breeder... its tells it all:

We saw photos of Kai on the Crystal Hills Cats website and we instantly fell in love with the adorable little girl. We decided that Kai would be our wedding present to ourselves (we almost named her "Honey" because she is our honeymoon!) and were so excited to add her to our family. Two days after we got married, we picked up Kai from the airport in Detroit and we all made the long drive back to our home in sunny Hilton Head, SC. Kai immediately adjusted to her new surroundings and her two new housemates. She took over our house and our hearts and we couldn't be happier. She is the most energetic and excited cat and also the most loveable and cuddly little kitten. She has a wonderful time playing with our other two cats and definitely keeps them on their toes.. literally! She a big talker and is curious about everything from ice cubes to paper, and loves strings and boxes. She's already learned to play fetch, perch on shoulders (jumping from the floor), and loves to run and chase her toys. We couldn't have asked for a more wonderful baby girl.

BEEP BEEP KAI's A JEEP

Link, also known as Linky and Linkzilla, was purchased at a pet store in Wyandotte, MI mid-October of 2002. Dan and Jesi visited the pet store after they had dropped off a stray at the local Humane Society. They were in the mode for saving kitties and that is what they did!

When they arrived to the pet store there were two tiny kittens in a single cage. Now, Dan and Jesi did not necessarily plan on bringing home a new kitty that day, but they fell in love with Link. Jesi held him for a while outside of the cage and then carried him around a bit. Every time she would go to pet him, he pushed himself up into her hand the most adorable way. Soon, the baby kitty (we assume he was only about 4-5 weeks old) had fallen asleep in Jesi's arms and he stayed that way until he was paid for and out in the car.

When he arrived home he met his new pal Oni. She was hesitant to get close to him at first, but when she saw how tiny he was, she couldn't deny the cuteness either.

We had to weigh less than a pound and be under 5 inches when he first came home. He fit in the palm of Jesi's hand. Here is a photo of Link's first day at home:


Link is named after the video game character of the same name from the Legend of Zelda series. He is currently just over 5 years old and weighs in at just under or over 20 lbs! He is a big huge baby!
His favorite foods are mandarine oranges and some veggies. Link unfortunately suffers from bulimia and has a hard time keeping down his food. But his people happily clean up is kitty barf regularly.

Links favorite game to play is fetch. He loves the rings off of milk jugs and has found that recently the rubber color coded rings that Target uses are also a great toy to play fetch with!

Link and Kai became friends fast and they play together all the time. Kai picks on Link (even though she is about a 1/4 his size) and he just lets her do it. From pouncing him to biting his butt to eating his tail... she's always doing something to that boy!

Family Meal

Tonight we had our first meal together. We got to share some yummy 'special food' that comes from the cabinet above the counter. We get to eat the special food in our special matching bowls. Fortunately our people were able to find a matching 3rd special food bowl for Kai when she arrived.

We've been spending more time together but still aren't too excited about all being around each other at the same time. So tonight, during dinner didn't fight or hiss and all got along great!

Bio: Oni

Oni is affectionately called the "garbage kitty". Jesi and Dan adopted her after a woman abandoned two kittens at a local pet store where Dan's mom was working. Oni came to us around the spring of 2001. She lived first at Dan's mom's house with her kitty friends CiCi and Sassy and her doggy friend Charlie. There were also some fish, bird and hamster friends that lived at the house. Oni had a great time there and played with Charlie all day and night. They were best pals.

After a few months, Oni moved with Jesi and Dan to a new home a few towns away. She loved the new apartment and had lots of fun playing with Jesi and Dan. But soon Oni got lonely because she missed Charlie and all her other animal friends. So she told her people that she needed a new playmate. Then one day Link came home! They were not best of friends at first, but soon became pals. Oni then became the "mama kitty".

Oni is named after the video game charachter of the same name. In Japanese, Oni means Demon. This was fitting when she was younger because she terrorized the other animals. She is definately not a demon and is a very friendly, affectionate and loveable member of the family.

Oni loves ice cream and tuna. Her favorite toy is her mousies. She likes the ones that have a small rope material around them. She says they are easier for her to fling and chase.
She also enjoys lounging on the balcony, sleeping on the couch, and biting Link's neck.
